Debuts on November 28.

Porsche has announced that a “new compact sports car” will be unveiled in L.A. This could only mean that they are talking about the 2013 Cayman.

The design will be heavily inspired from the 2013 Boxster and it will probably borrow its engine lineup. In other words, the entry-level Cayman will be powered by a 2.7-liter unit with 261 hp (195 kW), followed by the more potent S version with a larger 3.4-liter producing 311 hp (232 kW).

More details will be available on November 28. Stay tuned.

In terms of a _driver's_ car, many like the Cayman over the 911 because of the Cayman's lower weight--not to mention $35,000 to $40,000 cheaper based on US prices!

The upcoming Cayman S or soon to be revealed Corvette(C7)is the decision that I have to make. I've never been a true Vette fan - always Porsche, but I believe the upcoming C7 model will change that. Its price loaded will come in below a Cayman S coupled with good styling, leading technology and an all new cabin. Two very different cars that make for a challenging decision. My lean now is toward the C7 however this new Cayman has my attention.

Porsche's current model line is looking better than ever! The Carrera looks fantastic, elegant yet purposeful, the new Boxster also looks amazing, WAY better than any previous generation. Their evolutionary styling is working and i look forward to future cars if the current range looks so good! Oh wait, I forgot the Panamera!!

Hasn't the Cayman so far produced around 10 more hp than the Boxster? Wouldn't be surprising if this one did too.
