Seat crossover approved for production - report
Will be previewed by a new concept
Seat chairman James Muir has confirmed plans to launch a crossover by 2015.
Designed to battle the Nissan Qashqai and Volkswagen Tiguan, the crossover won't be a production version of the IBX concept that debuted at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. Instead, it will be previewed be a new concept “within the next two years.” Muir also confirmed it will go on sale “within the next three years,” so expect the production model to debut a few months after the concept is unveiled.
Little is known about the model, but Muir believes it is a better fit for the brand than a four-door sedan. He also revealed that sales are expected to total 100,000 units annually.
In the future, Muir wants a crossover version of the Mii as well as a production version of the Taigun concept.
