Possible Lexus LFA GTE racer photo tweeted

Tweeted by driver Akira Iida

Lexus race driver Akira Iida tweeted this photo of a Lexus LFA racer on a rolling road.

Various rumors are indicating that Lexus is working on a motorsport-exclusive version of the LFA to join the almost stock LFA that they have been using at some races, including the Nürburgring 24-Hour. Chances are that the car in this photo is the LFA GTE racer which Akira Iida will drive in next year’s Le Mans series.

He didn’t reveal any sort of information about the car but we assume that an official announcement will be made soon. If Lexus does plan on competing in the Le Mans series, they will have to face some serious competition coming from several McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes and Corvette models.

I don't know why people still complaining about the price! At least it is pure Lexus with a unique design that look nothing like any car in the market, has a masterpiece of an engine with is not shared with any other car. If you want to complain then you must complain about those new 2 years old companies who build supercars with an engine from the ZR1 and price it at $500k!

was a big fan until I saw the sticker price. its too expensive even for some rich people. when you have 380K $$'s and want to spend it on a car you dont even think of lexus. you get yourself a Lambo with a big smile on your face !

Which Lambo is faster then this around the Nurburgring, or which Ferrari or which Porsche? This is more exclusive and that sound..., only a Carrera GT is as good

to McLaren1: for me 7m18(GT2RS) is still slower then 7m14 (LFA Nurb. Ed), and for your price argument, the Radical is cheaper then the GT2RS and also faster, and the Bugatti and Koenigsegg which are much more expensive are way slower on that track... And i'm sorry there's a quicker Porsche(still a prototype), which will cost almost 2 the price of the LFA(918) check link: http://www.fastestlaps.com/tracks/nordschleife.html
