Ken Block in a Focus ST tackles Vaughn Gittin Jr. in a Golf VI GTI [video]

Racing in an abandoned neighborhood.

Ford asked professional drivers Ken Block and Vaughn Gittin Jr. to play around with a Focus ST and a Golf VI GTI in an abandoned neighborhood. Inside the Focus was Ken Block who managed to stay ahead at all times in this so-called race.

The Focus ST has 50 hp and 63 lb-ft more than the Golf VI GTI which is why Ford believes that Volkswagen’s hot hatch can’t keep up the pace. The Focus ST was also faster during the slalom thanks to its shorter steering ratios, while in a straight line the additional horsepower proved to be defining.

Golf R is way more overpriced than the GTI.. by price and segment it was the correct comparison

This sort of Performance based comparison obviously will never take price into the equation - power/torque figures/car segment (in this case hatchback)
