To be revealed next month.

Skoda plans on unveiling the new generation Octavia next month, before the car goes on sale in early 2013 and here are the latest spy photos of the upcoming model which will be based on the MQB platform, just like the Audi A3, Seat Leon and the new Golf.

Compared to the outgoing model, the new Octavia will be significantly bigger and more upmarket as it plans on competing in the medium-car segment. Thanks to the MQB platform, the 2013 Octavia will be lighter than the current model, despite the fact that it will have a length of about 4800mm, making it 250mm longer than the outgoing version.

While the entry-level versions will continue to provide more space at a more affordable price than its most important competitors, the high-end variants are expected to be pushed further upmarket and come at a higher price tag to compete with more established European automakers.

If it's around 4800mm, that's almost as long as Superb, what happens to Superb? It seems like the only sedan in the line-up that hasn't been officially updated, although facelift were testing.

Agree. and I hope 4.80m is a wrong information, 4m70 would be already plenty enough...
