Porsche 911 stolen at a gas station [video]

Might have happened in Germany.

This is the perfect example of why we shouldn’t leave the keys in the ignition when we get out of the car. This video was recorded at a gas station where the owner of a yellow Porsche 911 left his car opened and with the keys in the ignition.

A few seconds after the video starts, we see a BMW M5 (E39) pulling next to the Porsche and then the passenger gets out and “inspects” that 911 for a few seconds, noticing that the keys are in the ignition. After that he enters the M5 for a brief period and then after noticing that nobody was looking (except for the camera) he jumps into the 911 and takes off.

Chances are that the owner of that 911 won’t get a cent from the insurance company since he left the keys in the car.

still, I think we need harsher punishment for thieves. I would go to the extreme, you steal you die. Don't want to die, don't steal. I guess the Arab nations handle something better than the rest of us.

thatswhy it's good, when you need the key to open the gas pump nozzle. so you can not forget it in the car

the 911 was marked from before pulling into the gas station. they never intended on using the fuel pumps, but just to check out the car's status and pull the stunt. and guess what, they did exactly that. not giving a actual f*ck about the camera means that the original car wasn't an issue for them by being discovered, thus another stolen vehicle or false number plates

Hopefully the M5's plate will help getting back to the thief… But really, leaving the keys was a stupid thing to do.

I know that the situation is not funny, but the first thing I thought was that the thief has a car with a full tank, a Porsche owner has to pay for this fuel, even though no longer has car ;-)
