Appears to feature minor changes

The 2014 Mercedes E-Class Coupe has been caught by our spy photographers.

Lightly camouflaged, the prototype features a new front fascia with a revised grille and one-piece headlights. We can also see a new rear bumper, but the plastic cladding makes it hard to distinguish too many details.

Our spies weren't able to snap interior photos, but the cabin is expected to get a technology upgrade. Nothing is official, but speculation suggests the car could offer an updated night vision system and an improved lane keeping assist function.

Engine options will likely carryover, but there could be a new E300 variant that uses a 3.5-liter V6 that produces approximately 248 HP (182 kW).

The facelifted E-Class Coupe could go on sale next fall, so expect to learn more in the coming months.

Call me a purist, call me old-fashioned, but I don't like to see fixed side glass on cars marketed as Mercedes-Benz coupes. The use of fixed side glass on contemporary Mercedes-Benz two-door cars usually indicates a measure of cost-cutting. Thankfully, the cabriolet version remains unadulterated, like a diamond with no visible inclusions.

What's the point of the e300? It's not like people that are in the market for such a car will be trying to save a thousand or two.
