This year at the 2012 Gran Turismo Nürburgring Evo event in Germany, Porsche showcased the 918 Spyder. It was a pre-production development model wearing a race-inspired livery with the number 13.
The production version of the Porsche 918 Spyder will be out in September 2013, with deliveries commencing before the end of the year. It will have a V8 4.6-liter engine with a hybrid drivetrain and all-electric capabilities. The power unit is linked to a dual clutch PDK gearbox and should have a total power output of almost 770 hp (574 kW). The 918 Spyder will get two electric motors and promises to return 78.4 mpg US (94.1 mpg UK or 3 liters / 100 km).
Its 6.8 kWh lithium-ion battery should allow the car to travel up to 15.5 miles (25 km) on electricity, while the top speed in this mode will be of about 93 mph (150 km/h).
