Unlike the previous spy photos we've shown you with the upcoming Golf VII R, these new ones reveal the car in all its hot hatch glory. As you would expect, it will be distinguished from the regular Golf by the more aggressive front fascia, a center-mounted dual exhaust system (unlike this prototype) and aerodynamic side skirts. Other goodies include a high performance braking system, a sport-tuned suspension and 19- or 20-inch alloys.
As far as the interior cabin is concerned, it will probably feature sports seats, a bunch of carbon fiber accents and a piano black trim.
The all-wheel-drive Volkswagen Golf VII R will be motivated by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine good for 280 hp (208 kW) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque. It should be able to perform the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in “less than six seconds”, before hitting a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
