Jaguar XKR on fire, driver waves calmly to the audience [video]

Driving calmly a Jaguar XKR on fire at Nurburgring.

This video was recorded last Sunday at Nurburgring Nordschleife by one of the people in the audience who was watching the cars drive around the track. We notice the driver of a burning Jaguar XKR driving very slowly and calmly, and at one point he even waves to the public, even though people were telling him that the car was on fire.

According to a comment posted on YouTube, the car didn't belong to him as it was a Hertz Car rental. It's probably safe to assume that the insurance won't cover the damage. He certainly knew that the car was on fire as the hazard lights were on so he was aware of the fire burning under the XKR but decided not to care at all apparently. The good news is that nobody was injured after this incident.

Thanks to Marc for the tip.

on the contrary, it's brilliant. Don't trust a rental car - they are not taken care of, by the rental companies or the idiots that rent them. People's attitude is simply: "It's not mine, I don't care". Oh...and Jaguar shares position nr 2 on JD Powers with Porsche - they would not have made it there, if their cars had a reputation of self-immolation.

I said it in jest. I've had personal experience with a few Jags over different generations and where they are now subjectively falls in line with what you've mentioned objectively. I love them.
