Will likely debut in Paris

[UPDATE] - 5 high-res photo added.

Two new pictures of the 2013 Range Rover have leaked to the web, ahead of a possible unveiling at the Paris Motor Show.

Looking instantly recognizable, the model has an evolutionary design with styling cues from the Evoque. Starting up front, there's slender headlights and a three-bar grille. Further back, the crossover has a sloping roofline, a prominent character line and a tailgate-mounted spoiler.

Engine options are expected to carryover, but the company could introduce a hybrid or plug-in hybrid variant.

Despite featuring the same engines, there should be a big improvement in fuel efficiency as the model is expected to ride on an aluminum-intensive platform. Nothing is official, but the architecture could enable the model to weigh 400 kg (882 lbs) less than its predecessor.

No no no no!!!! Why are they making the front of this car look like a Ford Explorer!?!? It's almost like the Ford/Jaguar (Land Rover) tie is still there! :-( The front overhang is getting too long and it's starting to look like this SUV is based on a front wheel drive platform, plus the headlamp and grille design too closely resembles an Explorer. Seems like most of the front end was just grafted off of the Ford. I'm a little disappointed to be honest. Simply wish the front proportions could have remained more the same. The rest is probably great, and a nice evolution. Curious to see the interior. It will probably be well done. http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2011-ford-explorer-limited-4wd-review/full/#photo-3871362/

The third generation transition under BMW had a bit of an aura of mystic when I first saw it. This transition simply looks "newer" it does not really stir any emotions. I expected a bigger leap after 10 years

I thought Tata owns Land Rover not Ford! Guess they can't let go of the past as this is basically a luxury version of the Explorer.

Hideous!!! Total rubbish. How can the top of the model range be a caricature of the Evoque. Massive disappointment after the brilliant Evoque. This Range Rover is rubbish looks like a cheap Chinese knock off. Really poor.

Looks like what you get when you cross a Ford Explorer nose with a Ford Flex body. Still, I think Land Rover had to move ahead in order to remain competitive.

I'm not intentionally trying to berate this model, and I am definitely not a "hater"... but the side "vents" on the doors just doesn't make any sense. Talking about something that is purely ornamental and decorative. This is so contrary to the idea of (luxurious) function that Land Rover is all about. Are we supposed to believe that they are venting heat from the engine bay or brakes out through the front door structures? Sorry, this one even from an aesthetic/visual sense, just doesn't even make sense! It goes without saying though, that the interior looks clean and beautiful, and simply world class!
