Will be heavily influenced by the Camry

Our spy photographers have managed to catch a heavily camouflaged 2014 Toyota RAV4 prototype.

Looking slightly larger than its predecessor, the model has a Camry-inspired front fascia with angular headlights and a small grille. There's also a sloping roofline and a redesigned tailgate which eschews the spare tire carrier.

Engine options remain a mystery, but we wouldn't be surprised if the model is offered with a 178 hp (133 kW / 180 PS) 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a 268 hp (200 kW / 272 PS) 3.5-liter V6.

I wouldn't be surprised that Toyota offers an improved 2AR engine uprated to as high as 190 bhp on the new RAV4 but with no loss of fuel economy. And that will be the only engine available in the US model.

Guess it will be the BMW Engine and probably a hybrid option too? We are told this car will be in UK December this year ot Jan Next!
