The 2014 Cadillac CTS has been spied near the Nürburgring.
While the prototypes are heavily disguised, we can see the model will have evolutionary styling that embraces the Art & Science design philosophy. Notable highlights include a prominent grille, a shark-fin antenna and trapezoidal exhaust tips.
Underneath the edgy bodywork, we can expect an extended version of the Alpha platform that currently underpins the ATS. This will result a roomier cabin which is more comparable to the Audi A6, BMW 5-Series and Mercedes E-Class.
Engine options remain unconfirmed, but speculation suggests there will be a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 200 hp (149 kW / 203 PS), a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 270 hp (201 kW / 274 PS) and a 3.6-liter V6 with 320 hp (239 kW / 324 PS). A diesel engine will eventually be offered in Europe, but there's no word on specifications. We can also expect another CTS-V which could use a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces more than 556 hp (415 kW / 564 PS).
