Koenigsegg Agera R accelerations [video]

The rare and exotic Koenigsegg Agera R hypercar was filmed by YouTube's Marchettino during the recent Dodgeball Supercar Rally. The owner was gracious enough to give Marchettino access to the car as well as playing to the camera with revs and spirited accelerations.

As a refresher, the Agera R is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine which develops 1140 PS and 1200 Nm of torque using E85 fuel. With a curb weight of 1,435kg (3,164 lbs), the Agera R can accelerate from:

  • 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.9 seconds
  • 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) in 7.5 seconds
  • 0-200-0 km/h in 12.7 seconds
  • 0-300 km/h in 14.53 sec
  • 300-0 km/h in 6.66 sec
  • 0-200 mph in 17.68 sec
  • 200-0 mph in 7.28 sec
  • top speed in excess of 390 km/h (245 mph)

The Agera R is the only Roadster Hypercar with a detachable and stowable hardtop and has a price tag of approximately 1.2m euros.

E85 FTW!!! Why are no US cars making use of E85 at 105 octane? Flex fuel US cars 'allow' the use of E85, but do not make use of its power potential. Sad, really, US cars could be both "green" and have terrific performance, but OEM's simply choose to ignore. Or is Josh Tickell correct, and the real boogie man is big oil?
