According to a report filed by Dutch site Telegraaf, the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series has sold out. All 800 units are accounted for after arriving in dealerships at the beginning of this year. Mercedes had originally planned to introduce just 650 units to the market but due to dealership pressure and customer demand, the production limit was extended.

Power came courtesy of AMG's 6.3-liter V8 engine that pumped 517 PS (380 kW / 510 bhp) to the wheels via the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission. The statistics allowed the C63 AMG Black Series to claim the title as the most powerful factory C-Class of all-time and also allowed it to hit 100kph(62mph) from standstill in just 4.2 seconds - 0.3 seconds quicker than the standard AMG version.

The halo car of the C-Class range became the fourth model to carry the coveted Black Series label following the SLK, CLK and SL versions and carried a sticker price of 115,430 euros (German market).

There is a CLK Black Series, one of Clarkson's favorites. Youtube Top Gear CLK63 Black and you'll find the road test.

It is correct, they made a R171 SLK 55 AMG Black Series, which was actually a coupé, because the vario-roof was too heavy. Therefore they made a carbon roof. It is actually a nice little performance car. It was a very limited production. Last time i checked, there was 3 used cars for sale in Germany.

No surprise here. I'd still buy the M5 over this for the price, even though they're very different cars.

Althought I disagree with you because the C63 Black Series is not an M5 competior, more of a M3. I won't -1 you, but there is many dumb people here, the thumbs down probably because it is anonymous :D

Fair enough. I agree that it's lined up directly against the M3. But at that price, I would either one-up to a supercar/GT like a Vantage or the new M6 or a more complete package like the M5 and load it up with options.
