Aston Martin Vanquish spied undisguised [video]

Essentially a DBS replacement

The Aston Martin Vanquish has been spied completely undisguised in Padua, Italy.

Likely on a photo shoot, the DBS successor looks virtually identical to the Project AM310 concept that recently debuted at the Concours d'Elegance Villa d'Este.

Speculation suggests the car rides on an updated version of the VH platform and features more carbon fiber than its predecessor. Power could be provided by a 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces more than 550 hp (410 kW / 558 PS), but nothing is official as of yet.

The Vanquish could be unveiled later this year, so stay tuned for full details.

Looks great, although I think Aston have messed up their naming system. This should've been DB10 or new DBS

After the AM310 I thought it would look overstyled, but actually I'm not so sure. I think they've just about balanced it all very well. Still don't like the splitter thing though. It looks like it's carrying Pringles in its mouth. I also wouldn't mind wider tail lights, but that's nit-picking.

Really tiny niggle with this car. When Aston Martin brought out the original Vanquish, it was a totally different looking car to the DB7. It was much more muscular in stature and confident in appearance. This, while an absolute stunner, isn't quite as pumped up and strong as I would have expected. A little too demure to be a Vanquish....but that's just my opinion. Doesn't stop me from wanting one.

Very true, it is an evolution but in many ways they just deteriorated the Vanquish name when essentially its just a Virage Vantage. If they are strapped for cash and need another 'niche' segment a la Virage they could have made this Virage S or Virage Vantage and then leave the ultimate one for the Vanquish. I guarantee they are gonna make a Virage S which is cheaper than this and a Vanquish S more expensive than this. Amazing how the tables have turned against them so quickly and worked in Jaguar's. Long story short, there should be more distinction between V cars and DBs.

I agree. I would like the Vanquish to have more muscle. Make the DB's more streamlined and elegant. Vanquish and Vantage should have more brute.

Givent what looked like the DBS for the DB9, this looks like a Virage S. Nice design nevertheless, except the disgraceful front spoiler

Very nice evolution. I love how the greenhouse tampers off into the rear. It looks very solid, although there is some Carrera GT in it.

the back of this car looks very very similar to one-77. so someone who sees this car will not only be impressed be the beautiful look of this car but also because of the fact that he will think for a second that he saw one of the 76 one-77's..
