BMW 4-series Cabriolet spied on Nurburgring [video]

The BMW 4-series Cabriolet has been caught on video by WCF spy photographers for the first time when a prototype was burning rubber on the famous Nurburgring circuit.

The open-air version of the newly derived 4-series is sporting its foldaway hard-top roof in a closed position. The camouflage continues to hide the majority of the model's other styling elements while a few of the panels are likely to be changed when the production ready vehicle is unveiled.

Engines will include a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that boasts 240 bhp (179 kW / 243 PS) and a twin-turbo 3.0 liter inline six-cylinder engine producing 306 PS (225 kW / 302 hp).

The BMW 4-Series is set to be unveiled towards the end of this year, possibly at the Paris Motor Show in September.

By naming the convertible a 4-series, BMW can tickle quite a few more bucks out of customers pockets. I am sure the underpinnings are tried and true 3-series components. An old trick right out of the Audi`s book. Oh, well... worked for them (5,7, various A`s and Q`s)
