First Tesla Model S delivered [video]

Tesla has quietly delivered the first Model S to company board member Steve Jurvetson, ahead of its official launch on June 22nd.

Sporting a Signature Red exterior and a customized "TSLA S1" license plate, the limited edition model has an 85 kWh lithium-ion battery which enables the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds and hit a top speed of 125 mph (or 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 130 mph, if this is the performance variant).

The Model S Signature Series is priced from $87,900 while the Signature Performance Series starts at $97,900.

I never heard an engine revv so loud! Damn! Guaranteed to cause more accidents as it sneaks up silently on unsuspecting pedestrians.
