BMW Zagato coupe unveiled at 2012 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este [video]

Reportedly has 400 PS (294 kW / 394 hp)

BMW has officially unveiled the Zagato coupe at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.

Based on the Z4, the one-off model features a handcrafted aluminum body which is covered in exclusive Rosso Vivace paint. While the rear end has proved to be controversial, it has a unique design which incorporates a transparent panel, a rear diffuser and a dual exhaust system.

Official specifications haven't been announced, but sources say the car weighs 200 kg (441 lbs) less than the standard Z4 and features an upgraded engine with 400 PS (294 kW / 394 hp).

That rear is damn ugly. They should keep the stock Z4 rear end on this car it looks million times better.

I've notice that Zagato design cars look good from front on, but once you get to the rear, it seems the design team lost interest, packed up and went home leaving the cleaner to finish up the rear. On another note, they may have a big ass fetish that trinkles down to the car design

I think a few people share your sentiment Han. I love the front end but the rear looks a bit weird.
