Volkswagen developing Golf and Jetta Alltracks - report
2012 VW Passat Alltrack - 23.11.2011

Could be launched in 2015

Volkswagen is reportedly planning to introduce Alltrack variants of the next-generation Golf and Jetta.

Set to feature an increased ride height and plastic body cladding, the models are envisioned as an alternative to the next-generation Tiguan which will grow in size and offer a third-row of seats.

Both models are slated to ride on the MQB platform and the Golf Alltrack could be offered with front- or all-wheel drive. If everything pans out, they could go on sale as early as 2015.

This isn't new to VW. Does anyone remember the MK2 Golf Country!

This Passat Alltrack I get, and to be honest I need, but not so sure about CrossPolo, and similar, because they have small tire profile, and what kind of terrain capabilities they have anyway.

ok, the Golf I get (although I find the whole idea silly to begin with) since its either a hatch or estate, but a Jetta?? Seems like VW wants to revive the Subaru Outback sedans of yore. So many gender bending cars these days... 4 door coupes, SUV sedans. I'm all for progress and diversity but its getting carried away now
