Volkswagen developing Golf and Jetta Alltracks - report

Volkswagen is reportedly planning to introduce Alltrack variants of the next-generation Golf and Jetta.

Set to feature an increased ride height and plastic body cladding, the models are envisioned as an alternative to the next-generation Tiguan which will grow in size and offer a third-row of seats.

Both models are slated to ride on the MQB platform and the Golf Alltrack could be offered with front- or all-wheel drive. If everything pans out, they could go on sale as early as 2015.
