We've already seen prototypes of the 2014 Audi Q7, but new details are starting to emerge about the upcoming model.
According to Car Magazine, the redesigned crossover will ride on the "tall edition" of the MLB Evo platform. It will reportedly feature aluminum body panels which could enable the model to weigh 350 kg (772 lbs) less than its predecessor.
The magazine is also reporting that there will be a Q8. It will be based on the Q7, but have sportier styling and a more powerful engine lineup.
Speaking of engines, the crossovers are slated to feature two V6 petrols with 230 hp (171 kW / 233 PS) and 300 hp (223 kW / 304 PS), a 250 hp (186 kW / 253 PS) 3.0-liter V6 TDI and a 400 hp (298 kW / 405 PS) 4.2-liter V8 TDI. There could also be two plug-in hybrid variants - one with a four-cylinder petrol engine and another with a V6 TDI - and an S Q8 with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that produces 550 hp (410 kW / 557 PS).
