 2013 Mercedes S-Class rendered & speculated
2013 W222 Mercedes S-Class artist render / Wildspeed & Benzboost

While we wait for the official launch of the new Mercedes S-Class, artistic renderings are doing pretty well to feed the imagination. We have already seen one speculative effort and now we bring you a second version courtesy of Wildspeed.

Codenamed W222, the next generation S-Class has been caught on a number of occasions by our spies which has evidently fed the thoughts of the artist. The renderings feature a single frame grille that rides over smiling central air intakes while the additional vents reside on the outer area of the front fascia and incorporate LED daytime running lights. The headlights meanwhile show a unique design that appears similar to those seen on recently spotted camouflaged prototypes.

A similar engine line-up to the current generation is expected to be employed in the new S-Class range, albeit with emissions busting tuning and perhaps a few extra ponies.

The first body style will be unveiled later this year in the form of the S-Class sedan before it is followed by a long-wheelbase sedan, a coupe, a convertible as well as a Maybach replacing Pullman.

If the renderer reads this post, I could say, the front grill and short bonnet are the factors making this rendering look awkward. The front grill looks like those on C-class, it is not wide enough for a S-Class. While for the tail light, it is a shocking departure from recent MB designs, but it is a S-Class, so it is possible for rather unique tail light which later can be directly lifted to S-Class coupe or called whatever they want (CL is better name plate).

I seriously hope that the actual Headlights doesn't look anything like this...it just doesn't have an S Class flare to it...I admire the legacy that the S Class has, but if it want's to live up to it's past fame, this design has to go...

Those tail lights are a joke, they're hideous. They look like they were taken off of a mid 2000 Bentley......Eww

This rendering is a modified CLS form and doesn't have the current design language of the MB products or S class. The fenders are wrong and the front is a mismash of cues. I really don't understand why ppl produce these sub-standard guesses called renderings...the actual vehicle won't look like this and this representation obviously lacks orginality...I have seen better renderings from my 14yo nephew on his laptop.

It looks as if an E-class and a CLS-class have been merged together and then placed it on a LWB.

The front design, and overall shape, is pretty identical to what I'm expecting from the new S-Class. However I disagree with the rear; I think it will have lights that are much closer in design to the E-Class, CLS and M-Class.
