2013 Hennessey Venom GT Spyder hits the dyno, new photos released

Priced from $1.1 million (€862,745 / £696,731)

Hennessey has released a new promotional video for the Venom GT Spyder, following its delivery to Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler.

Detailed specifications weren't released, but the coupe features a mid-mounted, twin-turbo 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 1,200 hp (895 kW / 1217 PS) and 1,155 lb-ft (1,564 Nm). It is connected to a six-speed manual transmission which enables the 2,685 lb (1,220 kg) supercar to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds and 0-200 mph in 15.3 seconds

Hennessey has already announced plans to build five Venom GTs for the 2013 model year and the coupe is priced from $950,000 (€745,098 / £601,722) while the Spyder goes for $1.1 million (€862,745 / £696,731).

Lol, such BS, the buyers will wait 100000 years to get them, spending $100000000000 over budget, only to find out that they have 200bhp, from a toyota corolla. Why doesn't somebody close Fraudessy already? I have/had a Vette sates side, which I figured would be nice to enjoy with a bit of tunning, whenever I visit, it was such as disaster full of lies, that I decided to leave it 2 them 2 park it in their arses... for long- term- storage...

Jesus Christ! America's claim to supercar status is the SSC and Hennessey - one an overblown kit-car and the other an overgrown Lotus. Its just embarrassing and if its cool to you, you have no sophistication or understanding of engineering and automotive history.

OK so the donor car is like 60k the engine another 75k where do the other 900k come from? I mean does it really cost 900k to extend a lotus frame..For this price u can buy a lingenfelter 1200hp vette with the same engine and a 900k house.

Hennessey has a really bad reputation, this is a good start but just a start. Build the production car AND sell it. Then you will silence nay sayers and hopefully fix your rep. Provided it doesnt fall apart.
