BMW M135i officially unleashed with 320PS [video]

BMW has unleashed the first official details and images of the M-induced 1-Series hatch that has been labeled as the M135i. The model was initially previewed in concept form earlier this year and has now progressed to full production.

The new high performance variant (M135i) is the first M-induced model to be blessed upon the 1-Series range and comes with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that pumps 320PS(235kW/315hp) and 450Nm (332lb-ft) of torque to the wheels. It allows the M135i to accelerate from 0-100kph(0-62mph) in just 4.9 seconds before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250kph(155mph).

The BMW M135i also boasts the brand's xDrive all-wheel-drive system, an aerodynamically enhanced body kit, an upgraded suspension and a unique interior that distinguishes itself from the standard variants.

While BMW has only showcased the M135i is three door form on this occasion, we are told the model will also be available in the five-door version as well.

Unfortunately the M135i hatch is not due to arrive on US shores but sources have confirmed the coupe version will.

Im staggered that it looks a lot better in M Sport guise. I mean it's still ugly, but it's tolerable. I'm loving the fact that they released it in Estoril blue as well. :D My favourite ever BMW colour.....Just trying to picture an Imola Red one as well.

The three door and M sport looks a lot better than the five door. I could actually quite go for one of these in 125d M sport guise.

That black M rear bumper is ugly not only on the 1 series but all BMW cars. I saw the 7, 5 and 6 serieses with those M rear bumper and they all look ugly.

The M Sport kit looks good on this car and the stats are awesome. I can't say I was a fan of the 1 series when it was released, but I'm getting more and more impressed.

The availability of xdrive puts me off this car. Isn't the RWD good enough to deliver the fun that will convince me to buy it instead of an S3/ WRX STI/ EVO that they need to lure the AWD people?

Whats wrong with you? XDrive is optional. If you donĀ“t like AWD take the RWD model. Or go back to school...

Looks A LOT better with M treatment and of course 3 door version, but anyway with this engine in a hatchback, can't wait for a test drive.
