Lotus has been in financial limbo ever since their parent company, Proton, was bought by DRB-Hicom. Now, a new report is indicating the company has secured enough investment to restart production.
According to Autocar, Lotus will begin producing as many as 44 vehicles a week starting in May. The company will also resume development work on the next-generation Esprit.
While the company's other new models remain in financial purgatory, the magazine is reporting that Lotus will introduce "at least" three upgraded versions of existing models in time for this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed.
