Croatian company Rimac debuted their Concept_One last September in Frankfurt and announced they would be building only 88 examples. Now, on the occassion of the Top Marques auto show in Monaco, Rimac announced the electric powered supercar would cost $980,000 (€742,000). Apparently that was high enough to get the attention of His Royal Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco who visited the Rimac stand at the supercar show.

Rimac also announced a cooperation with Vredestein tires who showcased their Ultract Vorti ultimate high performance tire for the world's first electric hypercar. The tire was designed by top Italian designer Giugiaro and was developed for the most advanced high performance cars in mind. The Ultrac Vorti worn on the Concept_One are sized 245/35R-20 (front) and 295/30R-20 (rear).

The Concept_One features four electric motors that develop a combined power output of 1088 PS (800 kW / 1074 hp) and 3800 Nm (2802 lb-ft) of torque. Weighing only 1650 kg (3638 lb) 0-100 km/h arrives in 2.8 seconds and then onto a top speed of 305 km/h (190 mph). Driving range is approximately 600 km (373 miles) on a single charge.

Rimac officially started taking reservations and deposits for the production version of the Concept_One on the opening day of the Top Marques Monaco.

This car will will be a trivia question answer for a real car buff and maybe a picture in a coffee table book about cars that had no lasting impact on design or engineering. I may be in the minority, and I'll gladly stake out this position, but I am just not impressed with these ego cars that get more press coverage than models they sell or have any lasting impact. Pagani is a small company but he does it right as a boutique manufacturer. Pagani will be remembered for its artistic avant garde styling and matchless engineering. The Rimac....the what?

Those are amazing numbers: power and torque are huge and the performance suitably impressive (top speed is a bit marginal for that output but that's rather academic). The weight is incredibly light for that car...and the range...WOW! But can they deliver???
