The BMW 3-Series Touring (F31) prototypes have now lost nearly all of their camouflage as the model's official unveiling quickly approaches. The latest pictures show the new model undergoing testing in wet conditions.

The engine line-up from its sedan sibling will be carried over to the wagon variant. This will include a turbocharged 2.0-liter petrol with outputs of 184 PS (135 kW / 181 bhp) and 245 PS (180 kW / 241 bhp) as well as a 3.0-liter inline-six with 320 PS (235 kW / 315 bhp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.

Diesel options will include a 2.0-liter unit producing 143 PS (105 kW / 141 bhp) or 184 PS (135 kW / 181 bhp).

The first 2013 BMW 3-Series Wagon models will arrive in European dealerships in the Autumn.

Too tall for it's hood length? Since this car has probably the longest hood in it's class this would mean that every car in this class is to tall for it's hood length. I see your point on a vw passat or something, but not on a 3 series.

Nice looking car, I've always had a thing for BMW/Audi/Mercedes tourings.

I'm a huge fan of all the BMW Touring models as well as this new 3 but this one seems way too tall for such a short hood.

Hyundai may be styling cars nicely but the drivetrains are miles behind BMW, as well as materials and packaging. Try getting comfortable in a new Veloster, no head room, rear seats useless, hard plastics gutless engine. Not sure on 3 SERIES FRONT but the wagon looks awesome.

More of the same bland styling. Even Hyundai does it better with the i40SW!
