500T could use a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine

According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB), Fiat will launch two new models in the United States.

First and foremost, the 500T Sport will be a hatchback with a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine. The mill produces 160 hp (119 kW / 162 PS) in the Abarth 500, but it will likely be downgraded to approximately 130 hp (97 kW / 132 PS) for the 500T.

The documents also show the company will offer an Abarth 500C. This isn't terribly surprising, since the model is already available in Europe.

Both vehicles will be 2013 models, so expect them to be introduced in the near future.

Will Alfa Romeo be introduced in the US later on too? I see quite a lot of these Fiat 500s when I am in the US. Maybe smaller Alfas like the MiTo or Giullietta will have as much success.
