Dodge has unveiled the all-new 2013 Dodge Dart rally car at the New York Auto Show.
To be driven by action sports star Travis Pastrana, the 600hp all-wheel drive racer will contest the 2012 Global RallyCross Championship (GRC) Series which kicks off May 26 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Dart rally car is custom built specifically for Global RallyCross racing and has little in common with the production model. The Dart rally car uses a custom-built 2.0-liter 4-cylinder 16-valve turbo-charged which outputs 600-horsepower through a Sedav 4-wheel drive gear box. With more than 550 lb.-ft. of torque on tap, the Dart rally can run from 0 to 60 mph in 1.9 seconds.
Just in case you don't know who Travis Pastrana is, the 28 year old has won the Rally America championship four times and won multiple supercross and motorcross championships. He also owns the Nitro Circus action sports franchise which includes a television show, live tours and 3D feature film project. Pastrana is one of the most searched athletes in the world (6 million Google searches in 2010) and he has more than 3.5 million Facebook followers.
