Ferrari branded hair clippers announced - no joke [video]

The Italian supercar manufacturer from Maranello is showing no signs of slowing down its dilution of the Ferrari name as the latest non-automotive product to receive the famous name is introduced. Meet the new BaByliss Pro Volare X1 Clipper designed in conjunction with the Ferrari Design Team.

Hilariously called The Grand Prix of Grooming, the BaByliss Pro Volare X1 Clipper is equipped with an "ultra-efficient high-torque engine, developed in collaboration with Ferrari engineers, designed and built for Babyliss PRO." Thanks to titanium-coated steel cutting blades and a motor that cuts two times faster on the first pass the Volare is the ultimate professional grooming machine.

But wait, there's more!

The same Ferrari ingenuity is also available in the BaByliss Pro Volare dryer which is designed for maximum airflow, minimum weight, low vibration and outputs 2,000 watts of power. If that's not enough to blow you away, there's also a "turbo boost" button to activate 15 percent more air velocity.

As much as we wish this to be an early April Fools joke, a team of BaByliss styling engineers will have a booth at the 2012 New York Auto Show to give complimentary hair cuts to the media.

The BaByliss Pro Volare X1 Clippers cost $199.50 and the Pro Volare dryer, $399.

Ah... what better way to shave your head with these hair clippers, wash your head and dry with the "Ferrari" tuned hair dryer. Apply some wax on your new baldness and grab the keys to the 2012 Ferrari California for an enlightening ride. I'm sure you do not need a helmet as there will be little drag resistance forming on your newly-aerodynamic head during open-top motoring. Perhaps, man and machine together could probably achieve a slightly-higher top speed thanks to such a result. In conclusion please take this as a joke. No harm intended.
