Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Spyder rendered & beefed up

Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Spyder rendered & beefed up
Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Spyder artists rendering

Following the highly anticipated unveiling of the new Ferrari F12 Berlinetta at the Geneva Motor Show this week, the rumors about the open top version are inevitable. Fortunately, we were given a potential glimpse of the model when artist E Milano posted a speculative rendering to the WCF facebook page.

The artist has taken the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Spyder rendering a little further than just remove the roof. The rear end has also received a few updates that make the fastest Ferrari ever built look even more powerful and aggressive.

The standard F12 Berlinetta hits the scales at 1525kg (3362lbs) and is powered by a 6.2-liter (6262cc) V12 engine producing 740 HP (544 kW / 730 bhp) and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) of torque. It accelerates from standstill to 100kph (62mph) in 3.1 seconds and reaches 200 kph (124 mph) in 8.5 seconds.

The open top version will experience weight and aerodynamic disadvantages, so we would expect to see these times suffer by a few tenths of a second on the spyder variant.

The 599 GTB Fiorano that proceeded the new F12 Berlinetta took four years to release an open-top variant. So taking this historical fact into account, we could be waiting until 2016 before we see the F12 Berlinetta Spyder in production.
