Viper ACR-X laps Nurburgring in 7:03 [video]

The SRT Viper ACR-X has been flexing its muscles around Nurbugring and they have been good enough to release a video of the run. It shows the race car achieve a lap tome of 7:03.058 around the Green Hell and also gives a little extra information including real-time stats for the downforce and g-force.

The time is only a little quicker than the Viper ACR production version that completed the same lap in 7:12.13 back in September last year. On that occasion, the Viper ACR retook the production car lap record around Nurburgring from the Corvette ZR1.

The Viper ACR-X is powered by an 8.4-liter V10 engine that produces 640 horsepower (40 hp more than the standard model) and has a number of performance tweaks. These include a specially-tuned sports suspension, improved aerodynamics and a complete safety package (with a roll cage, fuel cell and race seat).

Not street legal sorry. Neither are the radicals in Germany. Fastest road legal car (legal in all countries) is german gumpert apollo.

As stated before radicals are not street legal in germany. Neither is this viper. Therefore the fastest street legal car on this track remains the GERMAN gumpert apollo. American cars need better handling not just straight line speed.

Your precious Apollo beat the production Viper by 0.56 of a second, and for some reason that compelled you to spell out the word German using all capital letters? Not to downplay Gumpert but please save the fan-boy sensationalism for when they accomplish something really amazing, not making a car a half a second faster for an additional $200,000.

The Gumpert even had to use semi-slicks to be that high on the list. I would even guess, that the Lexus LFA would be faster than the Apollo with semi-slicks.

still road legal. Put slicks on your car and try to beat it. Gumpert Apollo GERMAN is fastest road legal car.

The Nurburgring tests a car's true performance, that's probably why we don't see any Veyrons on the timesheet. It's only good at drag races.

It's pretty high up on the TopGear track, while the SS was right at the top for quite a bit. They're too heavy to beat any records here though, plus no rich guy who owns one is brave or talented enough! (Jenson Button sold his)

Here is the list for the Nordschleife...http://fastestlaps.com/tracks/nordschleife.html...But its true, in many countrys, Radical cars isnt a street legals.
