If you've always wanted a Jaguar E-Type but didn't want to deal with the hassles of owning a classic car, you might want to check out the Lyonheart K.

Oozing retro awesomeness, the bespoke coupe was designed by Robert Palm and Bo Zolland. It features a carbon fiber body which sits on top of an aluminum chassis. Notable styling highlights include a clamshell hood, LED taillights and 20-inch wheels.

The interior is elegantly appointed with premium leather upholstery, wood trim and brushed aluminum accents. There's also an infotainment system which is automatically concealed when not in use.

Power comes from a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine with 550 PS (405 kW / 542 hp) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission which enables the 1575 kg (3,472 lb) car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and hit an electronically limited top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph).

The company is currently accepting orders and pricing starts at €495,000 ($654,785 / £418,100).

LYONHEART K
A New, Truly British Luxury Sports Car

The LYONHEART K, an all-new, truly British luxury sports car, is launched today.

Classic Factory, the Swiss design company, recently enjoyed a huge worldwide success with its modern interpretation of the legendary Jaguar E-Type, designed by Robert Palm in collaboration with Bo Zolland. In order to meet customer demand, decision was taken to build a limited series.

Robert Palm, CEO of Classic Factory, said: "We want to make the 'Made In England' label into a truthful concept, not just a statement. Every part of the Lyonheart K is developed, engineered and hand-built in England. The design clues of the Lyonheart K reflect Britishness at its best: cool, elegant, refined, understated yet powerful and dynamic."

The 5.0 Litre Supercharged V8 delivers 550PS and 680Nm of torque. Carbon fibre panels cover a state-of-the-art aluminium chassis, keeping the weight below 1600kg. The Lyonheart K reaches 100kph in under 4 seconds and tops 300kph (electronically limited).

Lyonheart's design philosophy is simple, use only genuine materials: carbon fibre, leather, veneer, polished stainless steel, brushed aluminium and chromed metal, nothing else. Extreme attention has been given to every exterior and interior detail. The aluminium engine is revealed by opening the traditional, front-hinged clamshell bonnet.

The Lyonheart K is entirely hand-built in Coventry by skilled craftsmen and a new company has been founded: Lyonheart Cars Ltd. The order books for the 50 first Lyonheart K cars are now open at a basic price of EUR 495,000 (without taxes). The estimated delivery time is 18 months.

it must be noted that this car was presented before under a different name: the Growler http://www.carbodydesign.com/2011/02/growler-e-2011-concept/ and its style, imo, is eclipsed by another modern e-type jag, the e-type speedster: http://silodrome.com/the-eagle-e-type-speedster/

The general shape and profile of this update and the original Growler concept are undoubtedly good looking. However the lights don't work on either of them. The lights should at least attempt to replicate the Series I lights.

I love that the back end of it (and even the side profile) remind me quite a bit of the BMW Z8. Sexy car!

Jaguar seriously needs to consider a modern day E-Type. It will be such a good move for them, and I suspect would steal sales away from Mercedes' SL. Come on Jag, give us what we want!!!

last time I checked, they canned the etype project and building a smaller XK. It was rumoured that test mule was a modern day etype, but jaguar dismissed those rumours from the off and reported there were no plans to build one.

EPIC FAIL! The car is still looking good but the recent development are defiantly in the wrong direction. If I recall correctly the car used to be called Growler and it looked much better... a true retro remake with a modern twist. This though is a couple of steps backwards, the prices alone will not make it that profitable as it is so discouraging. I'd much rather get whatever the C-X16 will yield into production-line and just customize it to become a retro E-Type. Worst case scenario will endue costing less than half of this car's tag price. I am not gonna diss the see-through hood-fins because they can obviously be colored, but for the love of God oh why why did they change the headlights design! I hope Lyonheart revise the headlights design :( they just took a gorgeous car and made it an overpriced good looking one. If this goes into production as is, i'd be the first to manufacture a C-X16 based aftermarket alternative bodykit.
