Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse revealed with 1,200 HP
Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse 22.02.2012

Bugatti has announced the world premiere of the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse will take place at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6.

Confirming previous reports, the Grand Sport Vitesse is essentially a mix between the two Veyron variants: the Grand Sport (roadster) and Super Sport.

The Grand Sport Vitesse features the body structure of the Grand Sport while the visual appearance and performance of the Super Sport, which holds the current world speed record of 431km/h (268mph), is wrapped into one.

The Veyron Grand Sport roadster normally outputs 1,001HP (736kW / 987hp) and 1,250Nm (922lb-ft) torque, but in Vitesse dress it boasts the Super Sports muscle with 1,200HP (883kW / 1,184hp) and 1,500Nm (1,106lb-ft) of torque.

Just like the Super Sport, the increased power of the new roadster's 16-cylinder engine is accomplished with four enlarged turbos and intercoolers. The chassis has also been modified to support the extra power.

"The rapid success of the Super Sport convinced us to increase the performance of the Bugatti roadster. Once again our engineers worked hard to demonstrate that Bugatti is able to constantly redefine the boundaries of what is technically feasible," says Bugatti President Wolfgang Dürheimer in a press statement. "We gave our all to transfer the achievements of the Super Sport over to the Grand Sport, thereby turning open-top driving itself into an extraordinary experience at high speed."

sure, it's gorgeous.. But it's time to stop milking Veyron. Veyron and Gallardo are now in race against Mustang for most special editions. Time for a new car already. Give us the Galibier!

Galibier is current under redesign following the feedback. Bugatti President D?rheimer quoted the prototype not outrageous enough.

ok Bugatti, the Veyron is one of the most special cars ever. We get it. End of story. Just let it be special. There was only one Mclaren F1

Actually three Mclaren F1 variants excluding the racing version: regular, LM (LeMans) and GT. Another one called Ameritech is a modified version of the regular to adhere to US standard. Yet the probability an ordinary person saw them in person is slim to none. Even several Veyron variant are rare to see in person. BTW, there were already several supercars variant from the same model (Ferrari to Lambo), I do not understand the complain.

I agree and understand other cars have variants and I am a big fan of the Bugatti, but if you have 20 special editions, none of them are special anymore

If I'm able to drop that sort of money on a car brand new, I'm not just going to want the standard configuration. I'm going to want it to be different from stock. What's wrong with that?

Does anyone know how many exterior and interior colors or combinations are available?

Have a look on the Bugatti website for the standard colour options. But like many manufacturers, they will surely apply any colour that you desire.

Did anyone really not expect an uprated Grand Sport that features the benefits of the Super Sport? It's a logical progression.

Hey guys, this is not the end! According to some sources, Bugatti is preparing final ultimate version of the Veyron. Something like Ferrari's FXX!
