The new 2013 BMW 3-Series GT has been caught once again, this time the prototype was conducting cold weather testing.

The new variant of the 3er will feature the similarly raised ride height and seating position as its bigger 5er GT sibling. The pictures we see here clearly reveal the overall profile which appears to have a sportier aroma to it. However, we have to wait quite some time before we see it in production guise given that it isn't expected to be launched until March next year.

Engine options are likely to be a range of four and six cylinder options. Also, we haven't heard any confirmations of a hybrid making its way to the model, but don't rule it out.

The 3-Series GT is expected to be unveiled later this year, possibly at the Paris Motor Show.

Once again they feel that they have to compete with Audi everywhere. Not a single original thought coming out of BMW of late.

Don't do it. The 5GT's a dog. Why do it again? What a waste of time and resources. Spend it on an R8/SLS competitor.

I totally agree...what is the use of this car when it almost looks like an Estate or Station Wagon anyway. What BMW needs now is a Super Powerful Mid Engined Supercar to rival the Audi R8, Mercedes SLS Gullwing, Porsche something and so on.

BMW said thay dont think there is a need to create a super car since they think their M's are super cars. But yes i do agree they they should make a modern M1 mid engine.

How can the designers of such beautiful saloons produce such ugly hatchbacks?

I suppose I can see the point of a 3 series GT, BUT and this is a giant Jennifer Lopez style but.....the 5 series GT is not doing too well in sales, so Why BMW, must you try to create a sub brand no one asked for? Stick to what you know best, which is making small, medium and large over powered saloons that will run rings around everything else this side of a Porsche 911
