Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo gets a power boost
Packs 540 PS and 730 Nm (538 lb-ft) of torque
Alpina has quietly upgraded the B5 BiTurbo.
While there doesn't appear to be any styling changes, the model benefits from a revised tuning package which enables the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 to produce 540 PS (397 kW / 533 hp) and 730 Nm (538 lb-ft) of torque - an increase of 33 PS (24 kW / 32 hp) and 30 Nm (22 lb-ft). This enables the sedan to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds (an improvement of 0.2 seconds) and hit a top speed of 319 km/h (198 mph) - an increase of 12 km/h (7 mph).
In terms of efficiency, owners can expect to average 10.5 L/100km (26.9 mpg UK / 22.4 mpg US) with CO2 emissions of 244 g/km.
The updated B5 BiTurbo could debut in Geneva, so stay tuned for additional information.

Alpina is an automobile manufacturer on their own rights. They are not a sub-brand of BMW.

I think the Alpina styling has been stuck in the 80's for a looong time now.

Very impressive figures...but really ugly wheels. Turbine wheels are the only option for this the King of the Road.

This really is the perfect car: beautiful and understated design, powerful, spacious, exclusive, smooth and liveable. The only thing worrying is the price, which will be on the extreme side to import into Australia, in no thanks to Socialist ALP taxes. :(
