2013 BMW 3-Series Touring rear end styling revealed in patent photos
Could be launched later this year
Great news! The 2013 BMW 3-Series Touring will have a tailgate, possibly this one!
Jokes aside, the patent images reveal the model will have a steeply raked D-pillar and a new rear hatch with a contoured lip and integrated taillights. The front end styling, on the other hand, will be identical to the 3-Series sedan.
As we have previously reported, the 3-Series Touring will likely be launched later this year. Petrol engines are expected to include a turbocharged 2.0-liter with outputs of 184 PS (135 kW / 181 bhp) and 245 PS (180 kW / 241 bhp) as well as a 3.0-liter inline-six with 320 PS (235 kW / 315 bhp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. On the diesel side, there should be a 2.0-liter unit producing 143 PS (105 kW / 141 bhp) and 184 PS (135 kW / 181 bhp).
