Land Rover Freelander Facelift spy photos
Judging from these spy photos, Land Rover is preparing another second facelift for the Land Rover Freelander 2 (aka LR2 in North America).
Following the Freelander 2's first facelift revealed in 2010, the second facelift will be quite mild with a new grille and new headlights as well as new taillights. We might also see a slightly updated interior and new, more fuel-efficient engines.
Expect the 2013 Freelander 2 facelift to be officially introduced at the Paris Motor Show in September this year.

Is it just me or does this Freelander seem to have been around for ages now?

This car to me has always seem more like a model made to fill a gap in Land Rover range than compete in the intended target market

Isn't it competing with the Volvo XC60, BMW X3, Audi Q5, Ford Kuga, Honda CR-V and VW Tiguan, or are they all there just to fill a gap in their own manufacturer's ranges too?!

The car is not yet 5 years old; it will be replaced by the time it is 7 years old. What's wrong with that?

They missed a trick with this one. It was evolutionary in design, so looked very familiar from day 1. It's fallen way behind in design terms - it needed the same treatment the Discovery got. Whilst well made (performing better in reliability surveys as its not from Solihull factory) sitting inside is like going back in time. Green single colour LCD readouts... very poor! If they showed it some love, I'd be interested.
