 Infiniti Emerg-E patent designs leaked
Infiniti Emerg-E patent designs leaked, 1020, 13.02.2012

Following a series of teaser images and videos, patent office design illustrations of the Infiniti EMERG-E have leaked showing the exact body contours from multiple angles. These design illustrations correspond perfectly with the aforementioned teaser materials.

Less than two weeks ago Infiniti announced its name as EMERG-E. It is an electric powered "uncompromising" sports car with range-extended capability featuring a 1.2-liter engine mounted mid-ship for optimal weight distribution and handling.

Infiniti emphasizes the EMERG-E will be the first car from the brand to not only have a range-extender drivetrain but offer "vivid performance" with zero emissions capability.

The Infiniti EMERG-E electric sports car concept will make its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6th.

DESIGN: I like the rear end: it screams Porsche to me. The front is deferentially Infiniti, but this Lexus Idea of a pinched grill is UGLY. But my biggest problem is that rear side window profile. That awkward line doesn't belong: I know they're trying to find their signature design, but come on.. Powertrain seems underpowered for supercar looks such as this, but we'll see final results vs price later I guess. Overall: nice move Infiniti.

Infiniti has been using this grill for a couple years now...I don't see how they copied Lexus. Lexus owes it's existence to copying Mercedes in the beginning...now Lexus copies BMW styling. The LS looks like an enlarged 5 series.

In what world does the LS look like an enlarged 5-series? And which model years are you referring to?

A mid-engined Infinity, nice. Maybe Infinity is not teasing us with bs after all. The front grill, although small does resemble Lexus a little bit.

I stand corrected, you're right, but why that shape regardless TOYOTA or Infiniti?

I guess I overlooked the Essence concept that was kept quite for a while now. Lexus just embraces the grill more, that's why many of us talk like Lexus was the one to come up with the grill.

i'm sorry to say it but infiniti is going in a weird design way. pretty much like those current day acura's. wtf is wrong with you. the previous generation was great. superb (at it's time), well abobe lexus's designs. i'm sorry to say it as a infiniti fan, that the new products from lexus are badass, and using the front grill that infiniti envisioned first in a much better way. this concept doesn't have anything saying it's infiniti, beyond the front grill and badge. fail

Nice looking, but what is with the engine, only 1.2L?
