2013 Porsche Cayman spied up close: most revealing shots yet
2013 Porsche Cayman prototype spy photo

The 2013 Porsche Cayman's isn't expected to debut until later this year, still sightings of test vehicles are becoming more and more frequent and today is no exception. Our spies have caught again a prototype doing another round of testing and we are fortunate to get shots of it pretty close giving us our best look yet at the distinguishing features.

The exterior design mimics the styling of its open-top brother - the 2013 Boxster Roadster that Porsche first released official details of earlier this year. The main difference being the fixed roof that the Cayman features.

The engine options will also mirror its roadster sibling. The base model will get a 2.7-liter engine that produces 265 HP (261 bhp / 195 kW) whilst the high performance Cayman S gets a bigger 3.4-liter engine delivering 315 HP (311 bhp / 232 kW).

The Cayman is expected to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

I hope the new look will be as good as the new Boxter is. This car is a real sport car in it's price range.

It's a shame Porsche insists in making it less powerful than the 911...

Actually, there are clear covers that you can get for the existing Cayman to display the engine. It's only a matter of time before one is offered for the 981.
