The Land Rover Defender has been the vehicle of choice for hunters and nature lovers alike for many decades. So it comes as no surprise that Land Rover Germany has teamed up with Blaser hunting rifles, also from Germany, to offer a special edition Defender, the "Blaser Edition."

Limited to 60 units, the special edition based on the Defender 110 SE double cab painted in Keswick Green features an expedition roof rack, trailer hitch, electric winch, grille guard, snorkel air intake, rear spot light, black leather seats with green stitching and embroidered Argali logo in the headrests, Blaser logos on front doors and spare tire cover and lastly, a custom fitted gun case as the main attraction.

The gun case is built into the cargo area and can hold up to five rifles. In the bottom of the case are two drawers for ammunition and other small gear.

Power comes from Land Rover's latest Euro-5 compliant 2.2-liter turbo diesel with particulate filter. It produces 122 bhp (90 kW) and 266 lb-ft (360 Nm) of torque.

The Defender Blaser Edition will make its world premiere at Europe's largest trade fair for hunting and fishing in Dortmund known as "Jagd & Hund" (Hunter & Dog) from 31 January.

The price for the Defender Blaser Edition is 49,500 euros.

I love thus car but it lacks power. LR should develop a new turbo diesel with 200 hp and at least 500 Nm of torque just like Mercs 2.1. Why not even buying this engine from Mercedes?
