Smart fortwo second facelift spied

Spy photographers have caught what appears to be a second facelift for the Smart fortwo testing outside the Mercedes development facility in southern Germany.

The second generation Smart was introduced in late 2006 and received a minor facelift with LED daylight running light and new color variations in 2010. Now these latest pictures show another facelift for the Fortwo.

This time the changes are a bit more comprehensive, although nothing radical. With only a little bit of camouflage around the front end, we can see a redesigned front bumper fascia and the Smart emblem moved from the hood to the center of the grille which is also redesigned. In the rear, the only change is a restyled bumper fascia.

The Smart fortwo facelift II is expected to hit the market in late 2012.
