oh come on! i HATE concepts like this! the reality would be cars relative to today's styles. 2012 was seen in the past, as a year when cars would fly and we would live on mars or the moon...but that bullcrap was easily refuted as the present day evolved slowly with little advancement in the field of alternative ways of driving. 2025 shouldn't be much different than today, just some technological advancements and car styling will look a little more futuristic, but developing something as far fetch'd as the one shown above is just out of the question. Welcome to reality, food is not in pill form, cars can't fly, and no one has their own personal robot, so cut the crap and just focus on GRADUAL evolution in design rather than some strange streamline looking thing that seems impractical. GET REAL.

this is NOT the future. Those wheels are ridiculous, those wheel arches look silly and wouldn't allow the car to go over even a pebble on the road; and as far as the design itself (not looking at the wheels) goes, it's not even revolutionary or particularly interesting or striking. That front facia reminds me of the 2011 Volvo Concept You. The whole thing seems pointless.

what is the point in designing a car for 2025, i really don't get it. they aren't one of the top car brands in the world so what makes them think they will still be around????? they should concentrate on current models and not looking to far into the future.

What's with all the negative over reaction to what is only a concept? So what if it's a bit over the top or a break from reality; that is what it's suppose to be. What would you rather have? The same regurgitated recycled cookie cutter designs Ford is known for? Obviously, some of these details won't go into production; that's not the goal. The goal is to make a statement; a lasting impression. But I can see how it may influence future designs and I for one overall like what I see. Not a fan of Lincoln or Ford but I've never been one to stand in the way of granting someone (probably some 19 year old student) creative freedom. If this will be the new face of Lincoln in the near future, can't say I'm disapointed.

You are joking...this 'concept' does not have one redeeming feature externally, how about a concept that has a modicum of passing current regulations let alone 2025?, this thing would not pass any of them.....My bad..it has one thing I like, the paint.

This is a great and unique styling ala Maybach Exelero design lines but with a American flare! Interesting is the application of the RollsRoyce headlights to the Lincoln waterfall grill without the usual sloppy grill divider to afix the emblem. I don't expect V.P. of design, J.Mays, is smart enough to take this initial rendering and develop on it since he prefers the new moustasche design theme of the new Lincoln! That's just great, Lincoln still will be a Buick substitute.

Hi everyone I'm Jeeho Cha from LTU who was part of this design project with my fellow classmate Colin Bonathan. First of all really thank you WCF for this article and interest in our Lincoln project. So I do see some comments regarding this project and we do have a reason behind to have all design features in here. although this is NOT a final design! Hmm and neither Colin or I post final design in any website so it's hard to show but car was designed as high speed highway vehicle that could replace the personal jets! That's why tires are so thin and have huge wheels. I will ask Colin to post his final images we use in 2012 Detroit Autoshow. But any question please email me gcha@ltu.edu
