Watch an open-top AC Cobra crash at 130 mph [video]
The owner of this open-top AC Cobra replica walked away from a 130 mph (209 km/h) crash with only minor injuries.
Apparently, while traveling down the main straight just before arriving at the brake zone, a piece of the rear suspension broke. It caused the Cobra to veer off the track and spins, roll and cartwheel coming to a rest 500 feet (152 meters) later.
Despite not having a racing seat, no roll cage, no HANS device, having loose objects in the cabin and a safety harness intalled too high and not tightened, the driver is very fortunate to walk away. He sustained only bruised ribs and minor injuries to his left knee.
