Renault 5 slated for a comeback - report
The return of a cult classic?
The Renault 5 went out of production 27 years ago, but the model could be slated for a comeback.
Autocar is reporting the vehicle could be based on the next-generation Clio and feature a number of styling cues from the original. Notable attributes might include rectangular headlights, a slim grille and advanced energy-absorbing bumpers.
Inside, the cabin will be more luxurious with high quality materials and a modern design.
There's no word on when the model could be launched, but it will likely debut after the new Clio is unveiled at the Paris Motor Show.

Nothing special until you drive one (turbo gets a plus ) . I think it's like a french mini , but with less fame .

here we go again. renault is going to do the same crap job that Citro?n did when they tried to bring back the DS. don't expect a car that looks even remotely close to the original. it's going to have a box design with hig tech gadgets that no one will understand and a price tag that will make the most expensive BMW 1 series look cheap. case in point? the DS I mentioned before.
