The plug in version sounds awesome. $4 plus gas is just around the corner. Honda has always been conservative with their styling but there is enough here to satisfy most.

The design would've made sense... back in 2000. What is wrong with your design department Honda?

Specs are all great n stuff but If only they can make exciting looking cars.

*sighhhhhhhh* i'm glad for my Acura, but goddammit honda! why can't you make monumental designs that will blow the minds of consumers?? Today, in 2012, in order to compete, you must keep up with the times. The specs are without a doubt, bulletproof as usual and have been advancing, but the cosmetic importance of today's Honda's are just not doing it. Come on Honda, you can do better.....i hope.

Ugly as all the new Honda's out there.... Honda really needs to hire an entire new design team... because this is really going to give hype to the american brands...

I totally agree with you. HONDA needs to FIRE the ENTIRE design department!!!

This is not a concept WCF, I've seen this car on the streets for a decade now.
Astonishing how Japanese manufacturers slap a little chrome on the car and call it a new model (or even different brand Acura, Lexus, Infiniti) - and everyone falls for it.

Again, people blasting the car for "appearance."
A 310 HP V6. NO car in its class has even 300 HP.
And why does appearance matter?
The only time you'll see the car is when you're walking towards it. Once you're inside, you won't see it again until you leave.
Appearance isn't everything. Cars like the Sonata and Optima are relying on looks because that's all they have. Yes, the cars currently are solid, but no one knows that because the previous models were rubbish.
The Accord isn't rubbish. And that is known. Which is why the Accord is one of the benchmark midsize cars in terms of quality and driveability. The Accord doesn't need to look spectacular.
And the looks.
They honestly aren't that bad. They're definitely better than the 8th gen.
And the car isn't trying hard to copy anyone/anything. (Looking at the Ford Fusion with the Aston Martin grille, and the redesigned Genesis coupe with the GT-R front end.)

yea you are right design is important but soul of way of drive and engine is more important

What happened to hondas design dept., were they fired? They have become what GM was in the 80's, designed by beancounters. Another boring honda, a shame..

If you observe you?ll see Honda?s classic look in the front, imo better than the 8th generation. Honda was never meant to be ?exciting?, they are sensible cars, but as usual production model would be toned down.

Well said! Honda, specifically the Accord, has always maintained an ultra conservative approach when designing their cars; this is nothing new (except for the excessive, and unneeded, use of chrome here). Same can be said with Camry. So it should be no surprise, or let down, when seeing only slight changes in a new model. What most here do not understand is that there is a difference between being your average consumer who doesn't want something that looks like a poor mans Cadillac vs the sports car fan/enthusiast who want something that stands out in a crowd. To the later, if you want a true sports car you're looking in the wrong direction; although performance wise you probably couldn't tell. In the end, the people writing the checks are the majority who want these type of "boring" cars. Those affordable brands (specifically Korean models) that push the design front do not age well nor have the demand/resale value "boring Honda's" have 4... 5... 6 years down the road.

What I find interesting is that Honda _has_ decided to incorporate a CVT automatic with the new Accord powered by the new 181 bhp I-4 engine that uses "Earth Dreams Technology" on the US-market model. It should be noted that Honda is probably the second largest metal-belt CVT manufacturer in the world; only JATCO (which I belive is 80% owned by Nissan) makes more metal-belt CVT's, which explains why many Nissan models sold in the USA have CVT's for their automatics. The only reason why we don't see Honda-made CVT's on Honda cars is the fact many JDM Honda models come with the CVT as standard.

Wow! Im Now Sad for Honda! I was hoping to see something more eye catching! This look like the last body just with bigger Led fog lights and exhaust tips. I could have done this myself. YEP I see the Koreans Crushing You!! Watch out they are pushing the Design elements and so Should YOU!! HONDA DESIGN!! FIRE THEM NOW ALL OF THEM !!! THIS IS JUST FOUL!!! LET ME DESIGN ONE FOR YOU!!!!

Looks like a 3rd facelift to me. The roof line/trunk looks extremely similar to the current model. IMO the front end looks a lot more classic accord to me which looks very nice (aside from the giant chrome cubes for fog lights). overall though, boring design, not much different. same 'ol reliable Honda.

What is HONDA thinking???? It looks like the current generation Accord coupe with a body kit. Good luck passing this off to the public. Didn't they learn anything from the 2012 Civic debacle?
