2013 Dodge Dart leaked ahead of Detroit debut [video]
The Alfa-Dodge-Meo
On the eve of the North American International Auto Show, the 2013 Dodge Dart has been leaked in all its glory.
Essentially a Caliber replacement, the Dart is a four-door sedan which is based on the Alfa Romeo Giulietta but rides on a modified Compact U.S. Wide (CUSW) platform. It features an aggressive front fascia, a crosshair grille and optional 18-inch alloy wheels. Out back, there's "racetrack" tail lights, a dual exhaust system and an integrated trunk spoiler.
The interior is a huge leap forward as it has soft-touch materials, ambient lighting and color-keyed accents. Options include a heated steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster and an 8.4-inch Uconnect Touch infotainment system.
Under the hood, three engines will be available: a 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo, a 2.0-liter Tigershark and a 2.4-liter MultiAir Tigershark. They can be connected to three different transmissions which are expected to include a six-speed TCT (Twin Clutch Transmission) and a nine-speed automatic.
The Dodge Dart will be officially unveiled on Monday, so stay tuned for full details.
