BMW 1 Series 3-door hatchback designs exposed
BMW 1 Series three-door hatchback leaked patent designs, 500, 28.12.2011

We already know what the all-new BMW 1-Series looks likes as a 5-door hatch but how about a 3-door? Well thanks to Chinese portal site sohu.com for exposing these patent/trademark designs, we now have a good idea - just in case the spy photos weren't good enough.

Looking quite elongated, the B-pillar is pulled back and angled towards the rear while the absence of the rear door makes it look like a borderline shooting brake. The arcing roof combined with the arcing side glass also enhances the effect even more.

According to previous report, BMW will offer the 1-Series in a total of six different body variants divided into two different build architectures. The 1-Series 3-door hatch is expected to arrive summer of next year.

3 door is always much attractive than 5 door, but I could see myself only in M sport package, front is terrible on sport and urban.

What the hell is wrong with BMW! I just can't believe that they are going to let KIA!!!!! out design them. I'm sure the engineering and the driving experiences is out of this world, but the vanity of america is certainly in design first and driving experience second. This really ugly fromt the headlights to the bumper.

Not sure if BMW are saying: we can sell this because we are BMW? May appeal to short-sighted potential Golf owners...
