Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series Coupe hits Laguna Seca [videos]
Tire smoking fun
Mercedes has released two new videos of the C63 AMG Black Series Coupe at Laguna Seca.
While the driver in the white car is taking it easy, the manic in the red car lets it all hang out with some tire smoking antics.
As we have previously reported, the car features a 6.3-liter V8 engine with 517 PS (380 kW / 510 hp) and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed AMG SpeedShift MCT transmission which enables the coupe to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in approximately 4.2 seconds.

Linking youtube videos that have been up for days and then writing the stats of the car isn't considered news. And the only thing added to it is that the driver in the red car drives more enthusiastically than the one in white? How is this considered an article? And where in the video do you see evidence that Mercedes released the video?

STOP TRYING TO BE SUCH A SMART ARSE!!! It was news to me as I hadnt seen these vids before & couldnt remember the stats(shame on me for not catching them on youtube - "been up for days" :O how stupid of me to miss them). I (& im sure most people) go to a handfull of sites each day to get general info on things they are interested in. I really dont see what the problem is with a simple article like this one! Get a life!!!

I'm not trying to be a smart ARSE! Cars ARE my life as I'm in the car business, all I do all day is deal with cars and rely on websites like this for up to date information. I visit this website on a daily basis because it always has up to date information from around the world and even if I see news from other websites I come back here to get more details. The stats have been up for a long time not only on this website but on every other car website out there. Worldcarfans has been my favorite for years and thus I am entitled to point out an article that I feel doesn't live up to its standards. If you go to any car site each day then it wouldn't be news to you either. When I see poor journalism I will point it out because I expect better and am hoping others will do the same. Neither you ( ash UK ) nor bill930p have anything constructive to add and you don't acknowledge the fact that the author has blatantly put out false information about this video being released by Mercedes, not to mention your haphazard use of exclamation marks.

Can you prove this video isn't from Mercedes? I bet you can't. Sounds like cars are your livelihood and not necessarily your life. If it was your life then you certainly wouldn't question why we would post this new video of a vehicle which is of high interest to enthusiasts regardless of its newsworthiness.

I didn't write the article, Michael Gauthier did. As a responsible author it is up to him to keep up your reputation and prove me wrong. Just because I make a living out of cars it doesn't mean that it isn't also my life. A video that is over a week old isn't by any means considered new. I thought that maybe the problem was with the author but now I'm disappointed to see that this lack of professionalism stems from the founder of the website. As for proving that this video was not released by Mercedes,( http://www.youtube.com/user/mercedesbenztv?blend=1&ob=4#p/search )here is the link to the official Mercedes-Benz channel on Youtube where this video does not show up anywhere.

FYI, not everything MB produces shows up on their youtube or .tv pages. Call me what you like, I've been called much worse. But when false baseless comments are made towards us and our work, you will get an honest reply. It's only fair.

In regard to your disappointment that the video is a few days old and no longer newsworthy, I find it a bit unfair. Of course we strive to post topics as quickly as we can, but it's impossible for WCF or any site to be the first every time. Furthermore, the C63 AMG Black Series was first revealed many months ago, so in our view a new video that is intended for pure viewing enjoyment has a longer shelf life and doesn't need to be rushed. But that's not why we didn't post it right away. We simply had a technical problem receiving the video from Mercedes that took a few days to fix. If that's not acceptable for you, I wish you good luck.

I provided enough reason that it isn't from Mercedes while no one has given me any reason to prove that it is. When I posted that comment I didnt expect it to be ignored either, and correct me if I'm wrong but I think thats the whole point of the comments section. Like I said earlier I was dissaopointed because I have been visiting this website every day for years and when I noticed something that I felt wasn't to its standards I pointed it out. I guess anyone reading this can decide for themselves if it was false and baseless. Also it doesnt take a genius to download software that allows you to take the video off of youtube and claim it as your own. It seems weird to me that you would reply to my comment once not explaining why the video is from Mercedes, and then 20 minutes later coming up with an elaborate story using "technical problems" as an excuse. Thanks for the good luck wishes but based on what I see I think you might need it more.

No, you did not provided any proof that the video is not from Mercedes. Once again, your complaint/accusation that Michael is lying in his article and the video we posted is not from Mercedes is libellous and I will not accept it until you retract your statement. That is my response to your comment/complaint. It's no secret, Mercedes creates materials for accredited media only. WCF as well as many of our colleagues have access to these materials. Just because you didn't see it on Mercedes' youtube channel doesn't mean they didn't make it. Now, if you could please retract your comments I would very much appreciate it.

If you had to argue like this about every single article then when would you have time to find new material for us? even if there were tech proplems with it
December 26, 2011 9:54 am
If its not a secret then it shouldnt be hard for you to prove it. If you provide me with something that shows it is from Mercedes I will be glad to retract it and I will apologize for my accusation, but until then I will NOT retract anything. Its up to you to stand by your website and the content to prove me wrong, which you have not come even close to doing. Until then my comment stands.

Whats the difference if it is a Mercedes source or not? And the AMG Black hasent even went on sale yet, so any track testing or review would have been authorized by Mercedes. This means that if it was a car review they would have their name written all over the video as the first review of the black series. But this is not the case. The video clearly shows it is a mercedes ad, taking about 100 beauty shots in both videos before the videos even got started. Again if this wasnt mercedes then you would have known the source of the video in the corner of the screen somewhere. Also in regards to outdated material, if you think about it all your doing right now is taking time out of Brians day to look for new material, so he can answer a baseless accusation of the source. If they had to argue like this about every single article then when would they have time for new material for us?
