Cadillac ATS hits the Nürburgring [video]

Debuts in Detroit

As we edge closer to the North American International Auto Show, Cadillac has released the third installment of their series which chronicles the development of the 2013 ATS.

In the latest clip, engineers hit the Nürburgring to put the car through its paces. There isn't much to see, but the video gives a nice overview of some of the North Loop's most demanding curves and bends.

As we have previously reported, the ATS will be launched next summer and ride on a new rear-wheel drive platform. Three engines will be available including a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 270 hp (201 kW / 273 PS) and 353 Nm (260 lb-ft) of torque.

It looks good going around the track, I want to see what it looks like without the disguise if it looks something like this sketch(http://www.cars-data.com/articles_images/cadillac-ATS.jpg) it might be a hit here in the U.S.

A sporty caddy? DOesn't make sense to me. But a car like this isalways a winner for me. I doubt it if this is a 2.0 four banger.

Yes!!! Make it a worthwhile driving machine and I will be your first customer. It will probably make more sense buying a 3 series in Europe but I'll be proud driving a Cadillac instead.

Your comment would make sense in early 70's...
